The body of departed businessman Ivan Semwanga was Sunday taken to Mengo hospital for final postmortem analysis amid tears and sobs from friends and relatives.
The body reached Mengo hospital at around 15:00hrs aboard an A-Plus funeral services van.


The exercise (postmortem) which took more than four hours would later raise questions from the friends who were outside waiting.

At 7PM, one of the mourners only identified as Kato, who is a friend to the deceased, demanded for the body complained that they had delayed the body, questioning what their intention was.

One of Semwanga’s sisters only identified as Rita said medical reports from South Africa were indicating “Natural death” which was unbelievable to them and that’s why they asked for re-examination.

At around 20:00hrs the body was released and put in the funeral service van, with the help of the police and hundreds of boda boda men.

It was driven to his mansion in Muyenga through the roads of Kampala, Nsambya and Kabalagala where people where anxiously waited, screaming rest in peace Don Ivan.

On reaching home, the body was put in the compound for public viewing although no pictures were allowed to be taken.

His body will be taken to Namirembe Cathedral later today, from where it will be moved to his burial place in Kayunga.
Burial is set for Tuesday.
