KARATU BUS CRASH SURVIVORS TO RETURN ON THURSDAY

Dar es Salaam. Having spent three months in the US receiving medical treatment for injuries suffered in a tragic road accident in Karatu, three children are finally coming home on Thursday. The accident occurred on May 6.

According to Sioux City Journal, a farewell reception for the children and their parents will take place at the Leiter Room at Mercy Medical Center, in a news conference where Mercy representatives and key physicians will offer updates on the children's conditions.

Since receiving their treatment, Sadia Ismael, 13, Doreen Mshana, 13, and Wilson Tarimo, 12, have been receiving physical therapy at the Sioux City Ronald McDonald House.

The sole survivors of a crash that killed 32 of their classmates, two teachers and the bus driver, received medical assistance by representatives of Siouxland Tanzania Educational Medical Ministries (STEMM), immediately after the accident.

STEMM subsequently worked with Samantha's Purse - an international humanitarian group headed by the Rev Franklin Graham - to treat the children for their injuries in Sioux City.

Mercy donated tens of thousands of dollars in medical care to treat the kids, who sustained multiple fractures in the bus crash. The three were expected to make full recoveries.
